Is a perfect storm the perfect time for a murder?
When Hurricane Leo strikes Florida’s Camino Island, the damage is devastating: homes and condos are levelled, hotels and storefronts ruined, streets flooded, and a dozen people die. One of the dead is writer Nelson Kerr. But Nelson wasn’t killed by flying debris or a collapsing building. He has been battered to death by a golf club.
Who would want Nelson dead? The local police are overwhelmed with the aftermath of the storm. Nelson’s friend Bruce Cable decides to take the investigation into his own hands. He soon learns that Nelson’s novels were more fact than fiction and his latest book promised to blow the lid on a huge scandal. The killers don’t want the manuscript to see the light of day and Bruce finds himself in possession of a deadly oddity: a book that could, literally, get him killed…
